How to Decorate for the Holidays with HomeGoods

Although my family is looking forward to celebratory events this season, the holidays are never just about one special day, but also about the SPIRIT of peace, goodwill and togetherness. That’s why we decided to maximize the merriness this season and head to HomeGoods for affordable and unique holiday décor to deck-out three spaces.

Below, you’ll find tips and tricks for how to create a wow-worthy mantle, classic Christmas porch and a cozy ski chalet-inspired guest bedroom.

Merry Metallic Mantel

When styling any space, I like to take an out-of-the-box approach and repurpose items in new ways. I spotted an oversized metal reindeer punchbowl on HomeGoods.com that I styled at the base of my fireplace and instead of filling it with punch, I stuffed it with faux greenery, glass and metallic ornaments, then wrapped presents to create the ultimate statement piece!

Complete your mantle using my secret styling tip that makes a big impact: use front door swags to style your fireplace mantle! Just take two swags and join them together with wire to cascade over your mantel.

A Classic “Ho-Ho Holidays” Front Porch

Decorate to impress by using larger-than life holiday décor on your front porch, steps or walkway. I love all the oversized accents at HomeGoods like Nutcrackers, moose, faux Christmas trees and wooden holiday signs which can create a grand entrance outside of your home for under $200.

For a dramatic effect and a bold statement, I grouped ten trees together and included a variety of shapes and sizes to help add intrigue. As a final touch, I added bright pops of color throughout the trees by layering felt pom pom garland, string felt Santas and faux berry sprigs to give each tree its own unique flair.

Ski Chalet Guest Bedroom

I love setting guests up with a themed room to make them feel extra special, and I always make sure to include some seasonal goodies for them to snack on! While it may be a traditional sign of hospitality to style a bed tray, get creative by using a decorative sled instead! Top a vintage-inspired sled with a Nordic mug set and fluffy, snowman marshmallows from HomeGoods for an extraordinary welcome that costs less than $30!

Now that you’ve seen how easy decorating for the holidays can be, I’d love to see you recreate these looks with HomeGoods by shopping in-store and online at HomeGoods.com.
